Peter Gardner

Peter Gardner, TCRG is an instructor at the Carpenter Academy of Irish Dance in Buford, GA. Peter has been involved in Irish dance since the age of three and was a competitive dancer for 14 years. During his career, Peter won two Southern Region Oireachtas titles, top 10 at the North American Irish Dance Championships, as well as eleventh at the World Irish Dancing Championships. He was a member of several Oireachtas Championship teams, including a 4-hand, several 8-hands, and a Figure Choreography. Peter had the privilege of performing with The Chieftains and Eileen Ivers and has also had the pleasure of dancing at the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing, China as a member of “Celtic Connections”. 

 

​Along with Amanda Carpenter Gilleland TCRG and Catie Foley TCRG, Peter co-choreographed the Figure Choreography “Samhain”, which went on to win the 2017 World Irish Dancing Championships. Peter also co-choreographed the Dance Drama “Aisling - The Dream”, which placed second at the 2018 World Irish Dancing Championships. In addition to choreographing these teams, Peter also composed and recorded original music as accompaniment. Peter’s original music was also used for the 2015 Southern Region Oireachtas winning minor figure “Éan na h’Éireann - The Birds of Ireland”.

 

Peter is proud and honored to be a part of the amazing staff of teachers at the Carpenter Academy of Irish Dance, and is excited to share the joy of Irish Dancing with a new generation.
